Hawaiʻi Pathologists’ Laboratory (HPL) is one of the leading providers of pathology services in Hawaiʻi and the Pacific Basin. Since 1965, we have provided high-quality diagnostic pathology services to physicians, hospitals, healthcare organizations, and patients throughout our community and continue to do so today.
HPL is a locally owned, physician-led pathology group composed entirely of board-certified pathologists dedicated to supporting clinical decision-making and improving patient care across the region.

Hawaiʻi Pathologists’ Laboratory (HPL) is a locally, physician owned, pathology group composed of pathologists who are all board certified by the American Board of Pathology. In addition, many of our pathologists have additional training, expertise and certification in various specialty areas of pathology, including Cytopathology, Dermatopathology, Gastrointestinal Pathology, Gynecologic and Breast Pathology, Hematopathology, Oncologic Pathology, Urologic Pathology, Clinical Chemistry, Transfusion Medicine, and Molecular Diagnostics.

Supporting Medical Education
Education and physician training remain an important part of HPL’s mission.
Our pathologists serve as teaching faculty for the University of Hawaiʻi John A. Burns School of Medicine and actively participate in the education of medical students, residents, and future pathologists.
HPL physicians also serve as Program Directors and educators for the University of Hawaiʻi Pathology Residency Program.
